Heleina Waimoana Dalton

Heleina is a registered clinical creative arts therapist and an ACC approved, sensitive claims provider. She is experienced in working with individuals and groups in an educational and therapeutic capacity.

Heleina fosters a deep connection to her whānau, community and the natural environment. Her background is in Māori visual arts and adult education and is a practioner of Poutiria te Aroha/Nonviolent Parenting. Heleina adopts kaupapa and tīkanga Māori as a living, dynamic framework. She embraces a wānanga approach that honours the combined wisdom, skill and experience of faculty and students for the benefit of the collective. She is passionate about the integration of indigenous knowledge systems and spirituality in the contemporary context. She is also alive to the continual evolution of self, culture and community inspired by observing and working in ecotonal environments.
