Congratulations to the Whitecliffe Graduates of 2018!
We are proud to announce that 59 undergraduate and 44 postgraduate students were awarded Bachelor of Fine Art degrees, Postgraduate diplomas and Masters degrees in a graduation ceremony held at the Auckland Town Hall on Friday, November 30.
Lea Te Huia-Eastwood, Pae Ārahi, Erena Daniels, Kiriana Hakopa and Aroha Yates-Smith welcomed graduates, faculty, family and friends with a Pōwhiri, Kaikaranga, Karakia, Mihi and Waiata Himene. The Welcome and Opening Address given by Executive Chairman Feroz Ali was followed by a Graduation Address by Steven Joyce, the Former Minister of Tertiary Education. Whitecliffe Founder, Michèle Whitecliffe was awarded an honorary Master of Arts in Arts Management in recognition of her leadership of Whitecliffe. The award was announced and conferred by Director of Academic, Henry Symonds, and was Presented by Steven Joyce.
The following undergraduate department prizes for excellence were awarded to:
BFA Fine Arts Prize: Kahurangiariki Smith
BFA Photo Media Prize: Georgia Carr
BFA Fashion Design Prize: Jessica Jay
BFA Graphic Design Prize: Sydney Plested
The following postgraduate department prizes were awarded in recognition of outstanding achievements:
Master of Fine Arts Prize: Monique Lacey
Master of Arts in Arts Management: Laree Payne
Master of Arts in Arts Therapy (Clinical): Louise Morton
