Join Whitecliffe for the Winter Tech Exhibition 2026, featuring a Tech Exhibition Webinar open to attendees across all regions on 1 July and an on-campus exhibition at our Auckland Central Campus on 2 July.

Join guest speaker Dr Athar Imtiaz, Lead of AI & Data at Nodero, for an online session exploring how AI is shaping tech careers and the skills becoming more important in today’s industry.

 

Tech Exhibition:

This event celebrates student projects across artificial intelligence, software development, cybersecurity, data science, networking, web technologies and information systems.

 

Attendees will have the opportunity to view student work, connect with Whitecliffe Information Technology students and staff, and explore the skills shaping the future of the tech industry.

The technology industry is changing quickly, with AI influencing how software is built, how problems are solved and what employers look for in new graduates.

 

Join Dr Athar Imtiaz, Lead of AI & Data at Nodero and an applied AI/HCI researcher with Massey University, as he explores the impact of AI on tech careers. Drawing on his work across AI governance, regulatory frameworks and data sovereignty, Dr Athar will discuss the skills becoming more important in today’s industry and how students can position themselves for success in an increasingly AI-driven world.

The Auckland Central on-campus exhibition will feature student project displays, live demonstrations, guest speaker sessions, networking opportunities, refreshments, awards and certificate distribution.

 

Attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • See student projects across software development, AI, cybersecurity, web technologies, networking and information systems
  • Attend guest speaker sessions led by experienced technology professionals
  • Speak with students about their project ideas, development process and learning experience
  • Connect with industry guests, staff and the Whitecliffe IT community
  • Learn more about study pathways in Information Technology at Whitecliffe

About the guest speakers:

Ahmed ElAshmawy

Technical Director at Axenic

Ahmed ElAshmawy is a cybersecurity leader with 30 years of experience across national security, cybersecurity regulations, critical infrastructure protection and consulting. He has advised organisations in New Zealand and the Middle East, with recent work focused on AI security, governance, risk and compliance.

 

 

Joseph Morgan

Senior Security Practice Lead at DDS IT / NanoTech IT

Joseph Morgan is a Māori technology leader, cybersecurity professional and entrepreneur with more than 30 years of experience across technology, cybersecurity, governance and digital transformation. He is passionate about strengthening cyber resilience, mentoring future technology professionals and supporting pathways for rangatahi into technology and leadership.
