Who Can Apply?
This scholarship is for motivated and high-achieving IT professionals who:
- Hold an undergraduate degree in Information Technology
- Have a minimum CGPA of 3.0/4.0 (or 70%)
- Can show industry contributions and a passion for advancing Data Science or Cyber Security
- Aspire to take on leadership roles in the IT industry
- Have a reference letter from an IT professional or academic supervisor in New Zealand

Application Process:
- Complete your study application
- Submit the following documents:→ Proof of ID (passport or birth certificate)
→ Reference letter from an IT professional in New Zealand
→ Personal statement explaining your motivation, career goals, and how you plan to contribute to Data Science or Cyber Security
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview with Programme Leader IT
- If selected, confirm your place by paying the administration fee:– $2,000 non-refundable fee
- Evidence may be requested for any fee waiver or reduction requests.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis – the sooner you apply, the better your chances!
Scholarship Terms + Conditions
- Available only for domestic students who are full-time students and enrolling in the Master of Information Technology (July 2025 intake)
- Scholarships will cover one year of fees, up to 180 credits of study
- Covers tuition fees only (student levies and course-related costs are not included)
- Non-transferable – cannot be redeemed for cash or applied to another programme
- A non-refundable administration fee is required upon enrolment
- The offer of a Whitecliffe College MIT Achievement Scholarship is on the condition that you remain enrolled for the duration of your scholarship. The College retains the right to withdraw the Scholarship from students who: withdraw from enrolment after fee payments have been made, or transfer to another tertiary institution before completion of their master’s qualification.
- To retain your scholarship for your second and third trimesters of study, you must achieve a passing grade in all your courses in your first trimester.
- Should you fail any courses, your Whitecliffe Achievement Scholarship will not cover repeating courses, future enrolments, or re-enrolments.
- Scholarship holders are expected to actively participate in the Faculty during their studies. This could include supporting the writing of funding applications, academic paper preparation, project proposals, industry and sector engagement, or mentoring and student leadership.
- Whitecliffe College can amend or vary these regulations provided that there is no departure from the main purpose of the Scholarship.
