Whitecliffe is pleased to announce two new appointments to our leadership team to support quality assurance and curriculum development.

Dr. Kathy Garden – Director of Quality Operations

Kathy started her career as a lecturer in electronic and electrical engineering at the University of Canterbury.

Following this, she had several senior roles including Senior Policy Analyst for the Ministry of Research, Science and Technology, Executive Director of the NZ Business Council for Sustainable Development and Director of Strategic Development for the Manukau City Council. She was also Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Dean of Design and Creative Technologies at AUT University where she was accountable for the Schools of Engineering, Computer and Information Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Art and Design and Communications Studies.

In recent years, Kathy has done a variety of consulting roles within the tertiary sector, both within NZ and overseas.

Dr. Amy Edwards - Director of Quality Assurance

Amy has worked in multiple TEO’s and started her career as a lecturer at the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic.

Soon after, she moved into various leadership and academic quality roles including Academic Director at the Northland Polytechnic, Academic Advisor and Campus Director at UNITEC, Chief Executive of BTI, and Quality and Academic Director at WINTEC.

In recent years, Amy has been consulting and engaging with NZQA as an EER Evaluator, degree approval panel chairperson, external moderator, and consistency reviewer.

The Chief Executive of Whitecliffe, Mark Worsop says, “We are really pleased to welcome Kathy and Amy to the team. I have known both Kathy and Amy for several years as tertiary sector colleagues and admire and respect them both for their achievements, so I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to work with them more closely. We have some aspirational goals in the next few years for Whitecliffe, and not only is their experience and expertise going to be very relevant to Whitecliffe in the next phase of our growth and development, the leadership they bring to Whitecliffe will also be invaluable.”

These appointments will support Whitecliffe in continuing to bring not only industry-relevant degrees to the market, but also leading-edge and future-focused degrees that are going to provide our graduates the opportunity to create meaningful change.
