Pastoral support

The Pastoral Support team are committed to providing ongoing support and advice for student safety and well-being and is compliant with and reports annually on The Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021 which covers all students.

The support team help students with issues related to such things as personal, family, or financial difficulties, physical health, mental health, stress, anxiety, physical disabilities, learning difficulties, and any other issues that may affect learning progression and success.

Whitecliffe and Clearhead collaborate to prioritise student mental health.

Whitecliffe has a holistic student offering in partnership with Clearhead to meet the mental health needs of our students.

Clearhead is an online mental health and wellbeing platform, which includes a private virtual assistant that creates a personalised plan for the student to proactively maintain their wellbeing. As a New Zealand company, Clearhead also provides its platform in te reo Māori, which addresses the rising disparity of mental health outcomes in young Māori.
