Candy is a Lecturer and Placement Coordinator within the School of Creative Arts Therapy. She brings a strong background in higher education leadership and student support, with a particular interest in supporting students as they integrate academic learning with professional practice.
Her most recent role was Head of Humanities at a private higher education institution in South Africa, where she was responsible for academic leadership, curriculum oversight, staff management, and student performance interventions. Candy also has experience working as a group facilitator in a psychiatric hospital setting, as well as experience in early childhood education, contributing to her broad understanding of learning, development, and wellbeing across the lifespan.
Candy holds a Master’s degree in Research Psychology from the University of Cape Town. In her role as Placement Coordinator, she works alongside students, placement providers, and academic staff to support positive, ethical, and well-structured placement experiences within the creative arts therapy field.
