If you plan to pay by student loan, we recommend that you apply to StudyLink as soon as possible to allow time for your loan application to be processed.

If, for any reason, you need to withdraw after you have signed your contract, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can provide advice and if necessary, support. If you do withdraw you will need to sign a Variation of Enrolment form so that any fees paid can be refunded.

SECTION ONE • STUDENT WITHDRAWALS AND REFUNDS POLICY

By signing the Enrolment Contract (Section Four), you confirm that you have read and understood the Whitecliffe Student Withdrawal and Refunds Policy, established in compliance with the Education Act 2020.

Before commencement: A student who withdraws before the first day of required attendance or learning, whether online or in class, is entitled to a full refund.
Within 8 days of commencement (domestic students): The student is entitled to a refund of any course fees paid, less the lower of $500 or 10% of the course fees. If no fees have been paid, the student remains liable for the administration charge. If course fees have not been paid to Public Trust, the administration charge is payable directly to Whitecliffe.
More than 8 days after commencement: The student is not entitled to a refund. If no fees have been paid, the student remains liable for the total fees amount.

SECTION TWO • INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY (IP) CONSENT AND RELEASE AGREEMENT

By signing the Enrolment Contract (Section Four), you agree that Whitecliffe Education Ltd, or its affiliated entities, may use your work, image (photograph), or voice for educational purposes and/or in exhibitions, publications, advertising, or other media activities, including on the Internet, without expectation of compensation or other remuneration, now or in the future.

You retain ownership of what you produce while at Whitecliffe. Once you have left Whitecliffe, only copies of your work may be used unless you agree otherwise. Separate Consent and Release Forms apply for the use of your work after you leave and for the use of video recordings of you.

It is important that you read the following statements and confirm your understanding and agreement when signing the Enrolment Contract.

Whitecliffe may use your work, image, or voice for:

Educational purposes: Use in classroom or online teaching environments, including publication on the Whitecliffe Learning Management System, where it may be available to students.
Exhibitions: Display on Whitecliffe premises or at offsite venues.
Examples of student work: Display on campus premises.
Advertising and promotion: Promotion of Whitecliffe nationally and/or internationally.
External monitoring: Use where required for external review or monitoring purposes.

The audience may include one or more of the following:

Whitecliffe staff
Staff and students in the same or similar programmes of study, online or in class
Other Whitecliffe students and/or staff
Members of the general public who visit a location
General public nationally
General public internationally
Potential students or agencies nationally
Potential students or agents internationally

Whitecliffe agrees to:

Accurate attribution: Accurately acknowledge your involvement in producing the work.
Respect the integrity of your work: Not use it in a way that is knowingly damaging to your mana or reputation.

Additional provisions for students from the School of Creative Arts Therapies (SoCAT):

Any work produced by SoCAT students that involves clients and/or confidential therapeutic processes may not be used by Whitecliffe under this agreement.
Work produced by SoCAT students for public sharing may be used under this agreement, including published dissertations, artwork, artist statements, and photographic images taken as part of the end-of-year graduate exhibition.
As seminar teaching sessions often involve deeply personal creative therapeutic processes, informed consent must be obtained from relevant SoCAT Faculty and students before photographs are taken or used publicly.

Privacy, Fees, and Rules

Privacy

Whitecliffe complies with the Privacy Act 2020, which is designed to protect the privacy of individuals. It governs the collection, use, storage, and disclosure of personal information in accordance with the twelve information privacy principles in the Act. View the Act

Whitecliffe Education Ltd (Whitecliffe) collects and stores information from this form to:

Manage the business of Whitecliffe, including internal reporting and administrative processes.
Comply with the requirements of the Education and Training Act 2020 and other legislation relating to the maintenance of records.
Supply information to government agencies and other organisations as outlined below.

By signing this enrolment form, you authorise the disclosure of your personal information for the stated purposes, on the understanding that Whitecliffe and any government agencies will comply with the legal requirements relating to the use and disclosure of personal information under the Privacy Act 2020, the Education and Training Act 2020, and other relevant legislation.

You are entitled to access any information Whitecliffe holds about you and request correction of any errors in that information. To do so, please contact Admissions.

Whitecliffe may supply data collected on this form to government agencies including the Ministry of Education, Education New Zealand, the New Zealand Qualifications Authority, the Tertiary Education Commission, the Ministry of Social Development (including for student loans and allowances), Inland Revenue (for student loans), Immigration New Zealand (for students who are not New Zealand citizens or permanent residents), the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, and agencies that support students through scholarships, payment of fees, or other awards.

These agencies may use the data collected to:

Administer the tertiary education system, including funding and Fees-Free initiatives.
Develop policy advice for government.
Conduct statistical analysis and research.

Your personal details, including your name, date of birth, and residency, will be included in the National Student Index (NSI) and may be used in an authorised information-matching programme with the New Zealand Birth Register.

When required by law, Whitecliffe may release information to government agencies such as the New Zealand Police, Department of Justice, Ministry of Social Development, and the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC).

Information collected on this form may also be supplied to other educational organisations for the purpose of verifying academic records.

Fees

You undertake to pay all fees as they become due, and to meet any late fees and collection charges associated with debt recovery. Whitecliffe’s policy on withdrawal and refund of fees may be obtained from Student Services.

Rules

You undertake to comply with the published rules and policies of Whitecliffe regarding attendance, academic integrity and progress, code of conduct, health and safety, and behaviour.

You release Whitecliffe from all liability for personal accident, injury, illness, or loss of personal equipment which may result from your involvement with Whitecliffe, including participation in field trips and related travel.

You accept full personal liability for any loss or damage to Whitecliffe materials or equipment, such as books, cameras, and other items, for which you are responsible. You also understand that Whitecliffe provides no insurance for materials or equipment used outside Whitecliffe premises except where such use is under the direct supervision of Whitecliffe tutorial or technical staff.
