Five of our Year 3 Bachelor of Fine Arts students represented Whitecliffe at this year’s Eden Arts Art Schools Award, held at Webb’s in Mt Eden earlier this month.

Congratulations to Darian Serrano, Kathleen Allen, Annabelle Stanley, Logan Thomas, and Robyn Stewart for being among the 20 finalists selected from Auckland’s four leading art schools — Elam, AUT, Unitec, and Whitecliffe.

Whitecliffe’s Darian Serrano was named one of the joint winners of the 2025 award, recognised for his distinctive creative voice and technical strength.

About Eden Arts Art Schools Award

The Eden Arts Art Schools Award is a long-standing initiative celebrating the next generation of emerging artists across Tāmaki Makaurau. Each year, five finalists from each tertiary art school are selected to exhibit their work, with winners chosen by a panel of esteemed judges. It’s a platform for emerging artists to be seen, recognised and celebrated by leaders in New Zealand’s art community.

This year’s judges were Sue Gardiner MNZM, Chair of the Chartwell Trust, and Nathan Pōhio, artist and Senior Curator of Māori Art at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki. Artist Nicholas Pound presented the Board’s Choice Award on behalf of the Eden Arts Board.

Whitecliffe is proud to see our students’ creativity and dedication recognised among Auckland’s most promising young artists. Their participation reflects the strength of our Fine Arts community and the hands-on, exploratory approach that helps our students grow as artists.
