Gasworks Residency London Awarded to Christina Pataialii

Christina Pataialii (MFA 2018) has been awarded the prestigious Gasworks Residency in London.

The 11-week, fully-funded residency runs from 30 September – 16 December 2019 and provides “the opportunity for self-led professional development, artistic exchange and experimentation …”

Christina intends to use her time in London to ‘go down deep’ into historical and contemporary painting while also taking advantage of the opportunity to engage with one of the most diverse populations on the planet.

“The gasworks residency offers rare opportunities for international artists to research and develop new work in London. All programmes are accompanied by events and participatory workshops that engage audiences directly with artists and their work.” Read more

Christina is the second Whitecliffe MFA grad to gain this award, the first being Hikalu Clarke (MFA 2017) who completed the Gasworks residency in November 2018 – January 2019. See details of Hikalu’s gasworks residency experience via the article Whitecliffe Graduate Featured on Contemporary HUM
