Studying the Bachelor of Design + Digital Media at Whitecliffe has given me the space to grow creatively while being surrounded by people who share similar passions and ideas.
The programme began with strong design fundamentals, which helped me understand the foundations of creative practice before exploring the areas I personally wanted to focus on. As I have progressed, I have developed my own direction, especially through projects that are meaningful to me and relevant to the work I want to pursue in the future.
I am especially interested in motion graphics, branding, social media, and digital storytelling. I have enjoyed creating brand identities, experimenting with moving image, and learning how tools like Illustrator, Photoshop and Blender can support my design process. The course has also encouraged me to think about how AI can be used as part of a creative workflow, while still recognising the importance of human ideas, intention, and emotion in design.
One of the things I value most is the opportunity to apply my learning in real-world contexts. Being involved in design opportunities connected to events such as Fashion Week has given me great exposure and helped me build confidence in my work.
Whitecliffe has helped me understand that design is not just about making something look good. It is about thinking, problem-solving, creating with purpose, and building meaningful work.
