Creative Art Therapies

Julia has been practicing Art Therapy since 2016. She has led art therapy groups for children with anxiety and has worked extensively with children on the autistic spectrum through DTNZ (Dance Therapy New Zealand), Her previous experience includes work for Glowkids Conductive Education and Carlson School for Cerebral Palsy, developing programmes and assessment tools to assess the efficacy of creative arts therapy for PMLD clients.

Julia has trained extensively in Sand play therapy in New Zealand, and has used this modality primarily in her work with clients in her private practice and in EAP work. Julia has worked extensively at Kidz therapy as part of a multi-disciplinary team and has created specialised creative art therapy groups for children, facilitated professional development and helped to build a team of creative arts therapists onsite. Julia is on the organising committee for Toi Mai Te Manawa Auckland ANZACATA Regional group and assists in creating professional development and connection huis for members.

​Julia is a registered Arts Therapist with ANZACATA (The Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association).

Additional Information

Julia loves painting and sculpture, and is currently enrolled in her third year at Browne School of Art. She loves swimming in the sea, coffee, fresh flowers and spending time with her tamariki at the beach.
