Certificate in Digital Media + Design
As part of the Certificate programme, students get to explore brand and package design. Caitlin selected kombucha as her product type and created “Elixha,” a bright, colourful brand targeted at teenage gamers, positioning it as a healthy alternative to sodas and energy drinks. She then produced several examples of branded content designed for use in a social media campaign.
For this project, students created a basic brand identity for a product, including its logo, packaging, and a couple of extra branded items. They began by choosing a product type, then researched the industry, target audience, and examples of logos, colours, and styles relevant to that market. Next, students designed the product’s logo, experimenting with different layouts, colours, and graphics until they developed a strong final version. After that, they designed the packaging, ensuring it appealed to the target audience, and produced a realistic mock-up. Finally, they created two additional branded items of their choice, incorporating the logo, and presented them as digital mock-ups to resemble real-world products.
