Anthony Byrt has a Master of Arts in Art History with First Class Honours from the University of Auckland. After living for several years in London and Berlin, he has recently returned to New Zealand. His writing has appeared in leading publications around the world including Frieze, Art World, and the New Statesman. He is a regular contributor to Artforum International and the New Zealand Listener. His 2012 projects include a major interview with New Zealand artist Billy Apple for Frieze, an essay for a book about Australian artist Mikala Dwyer, and an exhibition catalogue for the Danish artist Peter Linde Busk, which will accompany Busk’s first museum exhibition in Europe.
