Whitecliffe Students Capture the Spotlight at the 2024 Eden Arts Art Schools Award
When talent, passion, and dedication come together, remarkable things happen. That’s exactly what we witnessed with Whitecliffe’s stellar performance at the 2024 Eden Arts Art Schools Award—an event that’s become an unmissable showcase of Auckland’s most promising young artists.
Five of our Fine Arts students—Caleb Steven, Helena Whitfield, Christian Turner, Varun Garg, and Nicole Zhao—poured their hearts into the competition, producing works that challenged, inspired, and captivated the audience. We’re proud to announce that Caleb Steven, a Year 3 Fine Arts student, was awarded a Highly Commended prize.
Caleb's work speaks volumes about the creativity and insight that define Whitecliffe’s art programmes.
But this event was about more than awards. The Eden Arts Art Schools Award is a rare space for students to be seen, recognised, and valued by leading figures in New Zealand’s art scene. This year’s judges, Te Uru Gallery director AD Schierning and award-winning artist Peata Larkin, selected finalists for their originality and bold artistic statements—qualities our students exemplified with every piece.
