About the workshop:
This course is for anyone who is seeking to expand on or develop inventive approaches to image making. Through a merging of visual languages, and various media, students will learn to challenge aesthetic ideals and break with convention. Each session will start with a quick succession of image making exercises that require movement, collaboration, compromise and consideration. New techniques and studio strategies will be introduced each day. In addition to group exercises, students will also be encouraged to produce a broad range of work that combines transferable processes with self-directed interests. Areas covered will include: mark making techniques, drawing strategies, various media and materials, analogue/digital collage, and optics and projection. This course will get students to reconnect with their creativity and experimental approach to art.
