Level: All levels. A degree of patience and dexterity is desirable.

About the workshop:

Computer technology can be very useful for artists, but for those working with tangible materials in the non-virtual world, it’s often incompatible… until you know how.

This course offers a range of simple processes using commonplace software like Photoshop ®, Illustrator ® and Sketchup ® to make computer-assisted art out of basic materials like: paper, pencil, vinyl and glue and tools like: scalpel and scissors. Students will also have access to a professional quality vinyl-cutter. Starting with 2-dimensional vinyl-cutting, students move through to making fully 3-dimensional objects that originate in the virtual world of the computer. Time is allowed in the last 2 days for participants to then develop their own project from knowledge gained in the first 3 days.
