TUTOR: JULIA TEALE
Life drawing is the best approach to learn the fundamentals of composition, line control and mark making, proportions, volumes, and light and dark shading. This 6 weEks evening class is an intensive engagement with figure drawing using a live model (nude). A model will be present each session for 3 hours. Julia may book different models during the course (male or female).
The sessions will start with various exercises to 'get into the flow' so that the students gain a sense of ease when approaching sustained drawing later in the day. The emphasis is on hand-eye coordination, composition and the various approaches to mark making and style that emerges through different drawing materials. The workshop is suitable for everyone who is interested in drawing the human figure, including established artists, total beginners and anyone in-between.
Note: Although our short courses are available for anyone 14 years old and over, we recommend parents' discretion with this course and consideration that it may be preferable to be 18 and over to attend.
THE 6 WEEKS COURSE WILL RUN OVER 7 WEEKS FROM MONDAY EVENING 18 SEPTEMBER TO MONDAY 6 NOVEMBER (NO CLASS ON 23 OCTOBER )
EACH CLASS WILL START AT 6PM AND FINISH AT 9PM.
