TUTOR: DAPHNE SIMONS
This introduction to drawing course is great for beginners or anybody who would like to improve the way they observe objects and their everyday surroundings. Through a range of enjoyable drawing exercises, you will learn techniques for analyzing and understanding this visual language. Topics include; memory vs reality, negative spaces, lines & shared edges, tone, mark-making, media experiments, and perspective & proportion.
Observational drawing is closely connected to the basics of perception, and with practice, this class will aim to strengthen general skills such as; attentiveness, patience and improvisation. The majority of classes will provide objects and images for drawing but for some exercises, students are encouraged to bring source material (objects or images).
THIS WEEKEND COURSE WILL RUN OVER 2 DAYS FROM SATURDAY 13 MAY TO SUNDAY 14 MAY FROM 9.30AM TO 4PM WITH ½ HOUR LUNCH BREAK (PLEASE BRING YOUR LUNCH)
