LEARN 3D PRINTING AND LASER CUTTING
This course introduces the 3D Printing & Laser Cutting techniques, applications and technologies that will allow students to create their own 3D objects and laser cuts. 3D printing is an exciting new technology that allows users to create three dimensional solid objects from a digital file. Laser Cutting technology is a powerful cutting system that allow users to apply highly accurate cuts and engravings to a variety of substrates.
Students will learn how to use the application software associated with each technique (TinkerCAD and Adobe Illustrator), will understand the file preparation for each technology and will produce small projects using both techniques. Students will have the opportunity to design and create their own 3D Print or Laser Cut project from start to finish with the guidance of the lecturer.
This is an introductory course and is suitable for all individuals who wish to learn the basics of 3D Printing & Laser Cutting.
No prior experience is required for this class.
You do NOT need to bring your computer to this class.
The course fee includes the material for a small project in 3D printing and in laser cutting for each student. students will be able to purchase special 3D printer filaments (such as metal) and extra printing hours during the class for their projects.
