TUTOR: PAUL SHADBOLT
This course introduces you to the layout and design applications of Adobe InDesign and Photoshop to create your own publication (portfolio, brochure...) and to retouch your digital photos.
Adobe InDesign® is a powerful page layout application that is the preferred choice of designers and publishers today. It provides you with all the tools you need to create an exceptional layout for print and screen.
Photoshop® is the professional standard in digital imaging, with an endless selection of drawing tools, filters, and colour-adjustment capabilities for manipulating items in many ways.
Using InDesign you will learn how to set-up a variety of documents, place images, format text, prepare and use master pages, create style sheets and produce documents ready for print. You will also learn the basics of typography and page layout design.
Using Photoshop you will learn how to prepare images for your documents and basic image editing. This part of the course will cover how to adjust images for brightness and contrast; cropping and straightening images; removing backgrounds and most importantly, how to ensure you have the correct resolution for printing.
This is an introductory course and is suitable for all individuals who wish to learn the basics of InDesign and Photoshop to create layouts for print media. The course is also a suitable introduction if you are currently working in marketing or design and also DTP/administrative personnel. No prior experience with InDesign or Photoshop is required for this class.
