Recent MFA Graduates Selected for ‘Projects’ Section at the 2018 Auckland Art Fair Art works by MFA graduates Hikalu Clarke and Christina Pataiali'i have been commissioned for the newly curated Projects section of the 2018 Auckland Art Fair.

Curators Gabriela Salgado (Te Tuhi) and Francis McWhannell (The Pantograph Punch) selected 18 emerging and established artists from New Zealand and Australia. Hikalu was commissioned by Lexus New Zealand to design and produce an installation entitled a tight grasp, a quiet voice (2018) involving two of their LC 500 Sports Coupés. The work was made in collaboration with Whitecliffe Fashion Design graduate Wilson Ong. Christina’s wall mural entitled west (2018) is presented with support from The Chartwell Trust and Creative New Zealand.

The Auckland Art Fair is open this week from May 23 – 27 at The Cloud, located at Auckland’s waterfront. For more information, please visit their website.
