Whitecliffe Faculty and Graduates Announced as Finalists in 2018 Wallace Art Awards

The Wallace Arts Trust aims to promote contemporary art and their artists in New Zealand. Now housing a number of senior artist’s bodies of works and having initiated over 80 commissions, the trust is an established and reputable resource with over 8,000 pieces. Each year, four winners are announced and presented with residencies at prestigious institutions. Many works by both winners and finalists are selected by the trust to be added to the permanent Collection.

This year’s finalists have been announced and we are delighted that the following faculty and graduates are included in the 2018 list. MFA programme director Noel Ivanoff, HOD Fine Arts Matt Ellwood, Fine Arts lecturer Imogen Taylor, 2015 BFA Graduate (Photo Media major) Rainer Weston and 2017 BFA Graduate Clare Gemima.

Exhibitions of works from the finalists will be shown at The Pah Homestead and Wallace Gallery in Morrinsville from early September. Find out more here.
