Fashion Design Graduate Maggie Hewitt has been featured in the August issue of Apparel Magazine. She talks of her inspiration, how her fashion journey started and her contribution to the New Zealand Fashion Industry.
“For me, it’s always designing for the girl, and what she wants and what she needs in her everyday life… We used to have big brands like Levi’s made in New Zealand, and that was a really prosperous industry for the country. Those makers still live and work in New Zealand, and we are dedicated to continuing working with them.”

Another Fashion Design Graduate, Sophie Scally has also been featured in a previous issue of Apparel Magazine where her collection made the front cover. Commenting on her collection she says “The highlight of my collection would be the final look, a one-shoulder dress with flounces. My garments are designed for women that feed off simplistic work apparel; an attire prepared to adapt to any arising circumstances. There is a focus on developing a uniform, giving the consumer one less sartorial decision to make when it’s a chaotic morning for a working woman.”
