In July, Whitecliffe offered the Foundation Certificate Programme at Manukau for the first time. It is a pilot programme being trialing to see how much interest there might be. It is a highly dynamic and engaged learning environment nestled in the Pasifika Education Centre premises. The programme is the same as the Parnell Campus and offers core subjects in Design and Painting and Drawing with special topics: Graphic Design, Visual Research, Printmaking and Photoshop. The lecturers work across both locations.
Eleven highly motivated students began the programme from a wide range of backgrounds and ages. The classes run from 10am until 2.30pm 4 days a week with the 5th day running 9am – 5.10pm which includes a Graphic Design as a special topic. The students are currently undertaking two workshops, printmaking and photoshop, at the Parnell campus.
Keep an eye out for their special flavor at their end of year exhibition in November.
