Sue Nelson, a home-based artist and a mother of three, wanted a degree that would assist her to market and manage her own studio practice and provide opportunities for professional employment.
The MA in Arts Management, from which she graduated at the end of last year, helped more than she could have imagined. First, an internship with Creative New Zealand, co-ordinating their 21st Century Arts Conference. She was then asked to review and create a strategic plan for Touch Compass Dance Company. CNZ also invited her to organise their 2012 arts conference. Susan said that Whitecliffe had “truly heightened her confidence to move forward with her own art practice”.
