2011 Whitecliffe Master of Arts in Arts Therapy graduate Aileen Perrin from Whangarei has gained a position as an Arts Therapist with the Northland DHB. This is the first Arts Therapist position offered there, it is where she did her internship. The job was for a Registered Health Clinician with the Early Intervention in Psychosis Team at NDHB (full-time position). Perrin tells us that the manager (a different manager than who she had been working with) was a little unsure about the Arts Therapy title, but she managed to relay what it was all about and what she could offer in saying: "Anyway, I was surprised when I got my contract to see that the job description was changed to "Registered Health Clinician - Arts Therapist. I am really happy about this official acknowledgement of the discipline."
