Year Twelve and Thirteen students considering a career in Fine Arts, Fashion Design, Graphic Design or Photography took part in the Whitecliffe Student for a Day Programme in August.
As well as being able to view Year One art classes, tour the campus and meet current students and faculty, it was a great opportunity for the students to find out more about the Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree Programme in addition to getting a taste of what being an art student is really like.
Student for a Day is about demystifying tertiary studies. We inform about the place of the portfolio in the application process and outline the various career opportunities that are available in creative industries when you graduate.
For anyone who may have missed this exciting opportunity, tours are available at 9a.m. and 11a.m. on Wednesday and Friday mornings every week. As spaces are limited, bookings are essential. Please phone Whitecliffe reception on 09 309 5970 to make a booking.
Year 12 and 13 student enjoying Student for a Day at Whitecliffe
Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design would like to extend a huge thank you to all faculty and staff. Without their participation, the Student for a Day programme would not have evolved into the success that it is. The HODs from all departments have devoted a lot of their time and energy to ensure that visiting students are well informed about the unique programme that Whitecliffe offers. With the implementation of the new Whitecliffe website and upgrade of internal server systems, a thank you is also extended to Marlon Rivers (IT Manager). His expertise and unfailing assistance during this challenging transition is sincerely valued.
