Data ingestion and cleaning using Power Query
Building a star schema data model
Creating DAX measures for key metrics
Performing time intelligence calculations
Designing interactive visualisations
To ensure a smooth and productive session, all participants are required to have Microsoft Power BI Desktop installed and ready on their laptops prior to the workshop.
For Wellington-based students attending in person: Please remember to bring your fully charged laptop with Power BI already installed.
For remote participants: Please ensure your installation is complete and functional ahead of the scheduled start time.
About the Presenter:
Dr. Muhammad Yasir is a seasoned IT professional and data analytics expert with over 15 years of experience, primarily in the public sector. He holds a PhD in Information Science, with a research focus on sustainability and advanced analytics. Currently serving as a Senior Data Analyst at the Commerce Commission, Dr. Yasir specializes in Python, R, SQL, Snowflake, Power BI, and Microsoft Fabric, and has a strong track record in machine learning, statistical modeling, and business intelligence.
