Whitecliffe is pleased to host the esteemed Eden Arts Art Schools Award again this year after having first hosted it in 2013. The award was launched by the Eden Arts Trust in 2011, and is now in its seventh year.
The annual Eden Arts Art Schools Award brings together Central Auckland’s four major arts institutions: Whitecliffe, AUT, Auckland University’s Elam School of Fine Arts and Unitec. Six undergraduate students will be selected as finalists from each school. The judge’s this year include artist Denys Watkins, photographer Edith Amituanai and Te Uru Waitakere Contemporary Gallery Director Andrew Clifford.
The awards event will be held on Thursday evening 29 June (by invitation only). The exhibition will be open for public viewing from Friday 30 June until Monday 3 July 10am – 4pm at the Whitecliffe Pearce Gallery and St Georges Bay Road Studios, both located at 130 St Georges Bay Road in Parnell.
The exhibition includes a Guided Floor Walk with judge Denys Watkins taking place on Sunday 2 July at 2pm. The cost is $15 general admission: to book please email firstname.lastname@example.org .
