Steve Carr completed his undergraduate studies at the Otago School of Fine Art, Dunedin and his Diploma in Teaching at the Dunedin College of Education. In 2002 he completed his MFA (1st Class honours) from Elam School of Fine Arts, Auckland University. His work has been in many major national and international exhibitions including Videos of New Zealand, a touring exhibition through New Zealand, Germany and Denmark. He also represented New Zealand at the Busan Biennale, Metropolitan Art Museum, South Korea in 2006. In 2010 he was the recipient of the Sapporo Artist in Residence in Japan. Steve is represented in New Zealand by Michael Lett Gallery and in Melbourne, Australia by Uplands Gallery. He has been a Lecturer in Fine Arts and Photography at Whitecliffe since 2006.
