Senior lecturer in fine arts, an Elam graduate and student of Colin McCahon with a background in secondary school art teaching. Lecturer in charge of printmaking specializing in screen-printing and etching, also lectures in painting. Lectured at Whitecliffe for 28 years and was a founding staff member with wide experience in lecturing and exhibiting. Horner’s works are in many private and public collections including the Rotorua Art Gallery and the James Wallace collection.
John is also a paramount chief (Muliagatele) in the Island of Savaai, Samoa
I am proud to be teaching at Whitecliffe and enjoy the feeling of belonging among staff and students. I think the College is second to none and although it may cost a little more than some it is absolutely worth it in terms of quality of tuition, availability of lecturers and results.
