Emily Armstrong

Emily began her studies at Whitecliffe College with a Diploma of Photography before going on to complete a Bachelor of Media Arts from Wintec and recently a Master of Art & Design from AUT. Her interests and areas of expertise range from painting to ceramics to photography. Emily enjoys teaching art to all ages and is currently teaching expressive drawing and painting techniques at Whitecliffe College as part of the Foundation programme.

James Lawrence

James completed his BFA and MFA at the Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. He has been based in New Zealand since 1992 where he has been a very respected and successful exhibiting artist and lecturer. James has taught BFA and Foundation students at Whitecliffe College and has conducted workshops and classes throughout New Zealand. www.mobileart.co.nz

Jess Paraone

Jess is currently enrolled in the MFA programme at Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design, Jess draws on 20 years of experience as a contemporary Maori fibre artist who has exhibited both nationally and internationally. Mira Miliszewska

Mira graduated from Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design in 2008 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in Graphic Design. Since graduating she has worked as Creative Director for a boutique marketing company and is currently a full time freelance Graphic Designer. Mira works with various clients from a range of industries. Her experience has given her excellent knowledge of Photoshop in both a creative and practical sense. Mira also teaches Photoshop and other courses part-time for the Graphic Design department at Whitecliffe.

Daphne Simons

Daphne graduated from Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2013 and has been exhibiting her work within New Zealand and internationally since. Her most recent project is the Artspace Chartwell Stairwell Commission that will be installed at the gallery until July 2015. Alongside this project, she has also organised productive educational workshops with the education intern at Artspace. Her works are both diverse in subject matter and media and she approaches them all as problem solving exercises that depend on tenacious observations and improvisational wit. Paul Hooker 

Paul worked as an Art Director and illustrator at a variety of Advertising Agencies for twenty five years .He is also a renowned portrait artist who lectures at Whitecliffe in the Fashion Design Department, at UNITEC and also at South Seas where he teaches life figure drawing. Paul has a Diploma in Graphic Design ATI

Ramon Robertson

Ramon has recently moved to New Zealand from Glasgow, Scotland where he worked as a college art tutor and an artist/designer. Ramon graduated from Glasgow School of Art with a BA Hons in Fine Art Sculpture and from Manchester Metropolitan University with a MA in Interior Design. He has exhibited throughout the UK as a solo artist and worked collaboratively with artists, designers and architects, exploring his interest in both art and design.

Treve Dromgool  

Treve graduated from Whitecliffe in 2002 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in Photography. She has since been immersed in the photographic industry, practicing as a medical photographer, working freelance, exhibiting, and teaching.

Other Courses

Please note: Students do not need to have completed a course in the previous term in order to enrol in a current or future term. Fees quoted are for each Evening (six week), Three Day or Weekend course.
