Can I get a student loan and are credits offered?

Short courses are non-credit which means that students enrolled in any of the courses are not eligible for a student loan.

Can an International student enrol in a short course?

Yes, International students are welcome to enrol. Students enrolling in a short course at Whitecliffe will need to ensure they have a valid study visa for the duration of their study.
(Please Note: You cannot obtain a study visa by applying for the short courses.)

Do I get a qualification if I complete a Short Course?

Since Short Courses are part time in duration, we do not offer qualifications. A Short Course does not contain credits towards a full Qualification. However if you want to advance your career, learn new skills, or are wanting to get back into the workforce, a short course can give you relevant training in a short period of time.

Who can enrol?

Courses are open to all people aged 14 years or over unless specified otherwise in the course description.

Do I need qualifications or experience to enrol in a Short Course?

No you don’t unless specified in the course description.

What is the application deadline?

It is highly recommended that you apply and pay for a course 4 – 6 weeks before the course start date.
(Please Note: Courses with low enrolments may be cancelled.)

How should I pay?

You can pay with a variety of options: cash, credit card or online banking.

If paying by cash or Eftpos, you will need to come to Reception at Whitecliffe’s Campus, 24 Balfour Rd, Parnell.

(Please note: Our Eftpos does not take Credit Cards.)

The full amount of the course fees are to be paid at the time of enrolment, or by invoice arrangement with an employer or educational establishment.

You will receive an email to confirm payment.

(Please Note: Places cannot be guaranteed until the full course payment has been made.)

What happens if a course is cancelled?

Sometimes a Short Course has to be cancelled or moved to another date. This may occur at short notice if the minimum number of participants has not been reached.

In such cases, you will be contacted and asked if you want to attend the same course on another date, or attend another course of your choice, or you will be given a full refund.

What happens if a class is cancelled?

If a class needs to be cancelled, it will run on the next available day or by arrangement between the tutor and class participants.

What is the procedure if I want to withdraw from a course?

If you withdraw from a course more than five working days before the course start date, your course fee will be refunded minus a $50 administration charge.

If you withdraw from a course five working days or less before the course start date, you will receive a 50% refund of your course fee minus a $50.00 administration charge.

No refunds will be given after a course starts.

Where do the courses take place?

Short Courses take place on Whitecliffe’s campus, 24 Balfour Rd, Parnell.

All classes take place in the same studios and computer labs that our full-time students use during the daytime.

How many people to a course?

The numbers vary depending on the course. Generally the classes tend to be from 4 – 10 people.

Where do I go on the first day/evening of my course?

Once the course is confirmed, you will receive an email with details of where to come and what time to arrive.

Where can I park?

Free on-street parking is available in front of the main entrance of Balfour Rd after 6pm. 

What do I need to bring on the first day/evening of my course?

Once the course is confirmed, you will receive an email with details of materials needed. Our website also provides a materials list for each course.

Do we use PCs or Macs on our Digital Design courses?

We use Macs. If you are unfamiliar with Macs, your tutor will go through a familiarisation programme at the beginning of the course. If you want to bring a PC laptop, you are most welcome to do that, but you must have the relevant software loaded.

Can I bring my own laptop to the Digital Design courses?

You are most welcome to bring your own laptop; however you will need to have the software used in the course, loaded onto your computer.

What versions of Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator do we use?

The classes are all taught in the Adobe CC (Creative Cloud) version.

How do I find out about new courses?

New courses are being added each term so join our mailing list here to ensure you are kept up-to-date with our latest news. Most courses have waiting lists so do enrol early.
