TUTOR: PAUL SHADBOLT
This Advanced INDESIGN® and PHOTOSHOP® course follows on from Introduction to INDESIGN® and PHOTOSHOP® and will take your basic knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop to the next level.
Using the features and techniques shown in Introduction to INDESIGN® and PHOTOSHOP® as a stepping stone, this course will focus on InDesign's and Photoshop's more advanced features.
In this course, you will work with saving files to previous versions, saving templates, and use different page sizes and sections. In InDesign you will learn to modify text flow with breaks, tabs, jump lines, and use text on a path and text outlines, and other advanced text options including using OpenType font's wide variety of typographic features. Enhance photos with Photoshop's vast collection of Filter's, explore the hidden power of Photoshop's brush tool, create animated Gif's using Photoshop's timeline, and increase your workflow with linked smart objects. Create interactive PDF’s, forms and e-publications using buttons, hyperlinks, basic animations and linked content with InDesign's interactive tool set, plus many more useful features tips and techniques.
This advanced course and is suitable for all individuals who wish to further their basic knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop.
This is an advanced course, and requires a solid understanding of InDesign and Photoshop, its common tools and terminology. If you are new to InDesign and Photoshop, please attend the Introduction to INDESIGN® and PHOTOSHOP® introductory course first.
If you have previous experience with InDesign and Photoshop and are unsure if you meet the minimum requirements, please contact the course organiser or tutor.
You do NOT need to bring your computer to this class.

THE 6 WEEKS COURSE WILL RUN OVER 7 WEEKS FROM THURSDAY EVENING 27 APRIL TO THURSDAY 8 JUNE (NO CLASS ON 18 MAY)
Each class will start at 6pm and finish at 9pm.
About Paul Shadbolt:
Paul Shadbolt have been a graphic designer for many years and is is an avid traveller and photographer. He holds a Design degree from Unitec and attended the Axis Awards Advertising School. He worked at Seven Visual Communication and was head of creative and marketing at Redhead Clothing until he created his own design studio: Foundation Design. He also has experience as systems analyst, hardware and software procurement manager and the I.T. support. It is these extra roles that has given Paul a greater depth of business related knowledge and therefore makes for a better designer. Paul is a lecturer on the Batchelor programme at Whitecliffe and is dedicated to teaching: “promoting the industry to potential young designers is very close to my heart”
