Fashion Design Student Wins Branding Competition

Year 4 student Minxi Chen won an Identity Solutions (IDS) branding package prize worth $500 on 13 September. The branding competition, sponsored by IDS, is open to all Year 4 Fashion Design students at Whitecliffe. The students designed swing tags, hanger tape and labels for competition submission. Virginia Shaw of IDS commented, “this year, the quality of the designs from the students was outstanding, making the choice very difficult. Minxi won for her originality, striking logo design and a clear understanding of her brand. We at IDS believe that creating a brand identity is one of the most important aspects of building a successful fashion label. Although branding is often given low priority, we feel that our annual competition has enlightened students to own their brand, make sure it is clearly communicated and to have technical knowledge in design branding.”

Whitecliffe thanks Virginia and IDS for their help and support of our students.
