2015 BFA Graduate Awarded Prize at 2016 iD Dunedin International Emerging Designer Awards

Kingkang Chen was awarded the ZM and Viva Editorial Prize (for Best New Zealand Collection) gaining him an editorial feature in The New Zealand Herald’s Viva Magazine.

The iD International Emerging Designer Awards are the largest fashion design competition in New Zealand and are considered a high point of iD Dunedin Fashion Week. Amongst the ninety applications submitted, there were thirty finalists chosen from the best design schools in the world. Recent Whitecliffe graduate and current MFA Fashion Sustainability candidate, Benjamin Farry was also a finalist. All finalists presented their collections at the runway event on17 March. The international and national judging panel for the awards included renowned designers and industry specialists:

-Tanya Carlson (Designer)

-Emilia Wickstead (Designer)

-Kate Sylvester (Designer)

-Stefan Siegel (Founder/Owner Not Just Another Label)

-Patty Huntington (Sydney journalist and fashion commentator)

-Margi Robinson (Designer NOM*d and Owner Plume Boutique)
