Whitecliffe Students Recipients of 2017 Kate Edger Educational Charitable Trust Awards

Year 4 BFA Fine Arts student Clare Gemima and Year 2 Master of Art in Arts Therapy (Clinical) students Danielle Jelleyman and Mary Weir are recipients of the Kate Edger Educational Charitable Trust (KEECT) Awards. The winners were announced at their awards ceremony held on 6 August 2017. Clare was awarded $1,000 to be used for art supplies and materials costs towards her art practice. Postgraduate students Danielle and Mary were each awarded $8,000.

The awards were established in 2016 and are funded by the KEECT, a Charitable Trust whose main purpose is to help female students further their education, through the provision of scholarships, financial and other assistance. The KEECT is named in recognition of Kate Milligan Edger (1857-1935), the first woman to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in the British Empire. We congratulate the students on their success.
