2014 Wallace Art Awards

The 23rd Annual Wallace Art Awards finalists have been announced for 2014. Sir James Wallace established the awards more than twenty years ago to support and expand the visual arts in New Zealand and reward artists creating exceptional work. This year’s judges are esteemed arts practitioners Andrew Clifford, Andrew McLeod, Peter Panyoczki, Terry Stringer and Linda Tyler. Whitecliffe particularly congratulates finalists:

Glen Snow – Lecturer

Whitecliffe MFA graduates Virginia Leonard and Marie Potter

The prizes include residencies in Switzerland, New York, Vermont and San Francisco and monetary prizes.

The winners will be announced on 1 September with the Exhibition of Winners and Selected Finalists opening to the public on 2 September, showing until 9 November at the TSB Bank Wallace Arts Centre in Hillsborough, Auckland. For more information, please visit their website.
