Pacific Arts Association 11th International Symposium

Whitecliffe will be well represented at the upcoming Pacific Arts Association 11th International Symposium, being hosted in Vancouver, Canada. In early August Giles Peterson, Leilana Kake, Richard Kereopa, Margaret Aul and Donna Campbell will travel to Vancouver to attend the symposium. Contextual Lecturer Giles Peterson will be presenting a paper at the symposium. His paper Indigenous histories, local practices: Niu Pasifik Warriors Exhibition, Nui Warrior Festival (Casula Powerhouse Art Centre, Sydney), focuses on the Niu Pasifik Warriors Exhibition curated by Giles. The paper addresses the compelling challenges of inter-personal and cross-cultural understanding, reconciliation, bravery and leadership. Also presenting at the symposium are MFA Studio Supervisor Leilani Kake and MFA alumna Donna Campbell. MFA Supervisor Richard Keropa and MFA alumna Margaret Aul will also be attending.
