Whitecliffe graduates contribute to success of Language of Living, Yee Yang ‘Square’ Lee MAAM and Jenny Hutchings, MAAM

New Zealand Dance Company’s premier opening Language of Living was a resounding success.

The Herald review by Bernadette Rae said.

“Five stunning works - diverse, delightful, relevant and revealing - are shown to perfection in a fascinating, all-encompassing set with extraordinary lighting and a feast of music, much of it performed live.”

Currently Acting General Manager for The New Zealand Dance Company, MA in Arts Management alumni, Yee Yang ‘Square’ Lee, is a Chartered Secretary with degrees in Law and Arts Management, holding executive directorships with various private enterprises. In the arts, Square is an arts manager, producer, director, designer and web consultant/developer.

Also a graduate of Whitecliffe MA Arts Management programme, Jenny Hutchings is the Development Manager with the New Zealand Dance Company. Hutchings was previously with the Tauranga Art Gallery, working from the project office through to refurbishment of the original bank building; to the first two years operation of Tauranga’s first public art gallery. Jenny is also Trustee and founder of the Arohanui Art And Education Trust, an independent charitable trust providing day services for people with intellectual disability. The Trust now caters for clients across three facilities in the Western Bay of Plenty.

Lee and Hutchings exemplify the value of a Whitecliffe MA Arts Management degree and are only two of many graduates from this programme making their mark in the arts industry.
