Four Years On – Gallery36 at Pearce Gallery opening on Tuesday 3 April at 5.30 pm. This is a retrospective (synopsis) of the last three years of artists that have been profiled in the fine arts ezine Gallery36. It is a celebration to acknowledge the publication’s fourth birthday and the artists that have contributed to its success.
Gallery36 is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to showcasing predominantly emerging artists and photographers. There is a strong focus on New Zealand artists, both working in New Zealand and abroad, while also featuring international emerging artists. Expanding from a quarterly e-zine to six issues per year, Gallery36 is dedicated to providing outstanding artists and photographers the opportunity to be profiled in a professional and easily accessible format, an e-zine that goes out to over 750 organisations and individuals.
Four Years On will be curated by Whitecliffe MAAM alumni Selene Simcox and will include works by recent Whitecliffe alumni. Opening night features the only performance by dancer Junita Jelleyman so all are encouraged to attend. The exhibition opening will also be an opportunity to meet the new team members of Gallery36 and senior students will be invited to consider having their work featured in the magazine on graduation.
