Estuary Artworks Competiton 2012

Year 3 Whitecliffe Fine Arts students Mark O’Donnell and Daphne Simons have been selected as finalists for the 2012 Estuary Artworks competition for their collaborative sculpture: “ Bullion Beeswax”. Visit the exhibition, on until 8 March and vote for your People's Choice Award.

Uxbridge Creative Centre is proud to announce the Estuary Artworks Competition will be running again in 2012, offering a total of $9,000 in prize money. This exhibition has been supported by Howick Local Board, Auckland Council. This significant art competition, now into its sixth year, is open to all residents of New Zealand. Our aim, through the artworks, is for visitors to the exhibition to gain awareness of and appreciation for the Estuary's natural, cultural and geological features of regional and national significance and to motivate communities to actively work together for its protection, enhancement and restoration. The judges will be looking for original, informed and intelligent responses to this theme. An exhibition of the finalist works will be on display at Uxbridge Creative Centre from 16 February until 8 March 2012.
