Dig My Soul Exhibition

In response to Government decisions to allow the Bay of Plenty oceanic area to be explored for oil reserves, a group of Whitecliffe students and faculty participated in the Dig My Soul, Art Exhibition in July 2011. The exhibition was organised to heighten awareness of this potential ecological disaster; such as the one the Gulf of Mexico experienced in 2010. Year 2 BFA Fine Arts major, Jaimie Waititi was the key organiser and driving force behind this event due to her close family ties to the Bay of Plenty region.

The exhibition featured work by:Jaimie Waititi, Shanay Aseraf, Emma Wallace, Paris Kirby, Mark O’Donnell, Daphne Simons, Hayley Rankin, Louise Phyn, Dylan Reece, Laken Whitecliffe, Peter Seaton, Natasha Sharan, Christina Pataialii, Lynnemaree Patterson, John Horner, Gareth Jensen, Buka Woods, and Jeffrey Kirby.
