Eden Arts Award

The Eden Arts Trust is proud to announce the launch of a new arts award. Offering a total of $8,000 in prize money, the Eden Arts Art Schools Award brings together for the first time Auckland's four major art institutions: Elam, Unitec, AUT and Whitecliffe.

Six student entries will be selected from each school and judged by an independent judge (or judges) appointed by Eden Arts. The Award is open to full-time undergraduates and there are no restrictions on medium. The Overall Winner will receive $5,000. Three Highly Commended will receive $1,000 each.

Elam, Unitec, AUT and Whitecliffe will rotate as the host institution, with Elam hosting the inaugural Award 2011 followed in order by Unitec, AUT and Whitecliffe.

The invitation-only Opening Evening and Awards Ceremony hosted by Elam is on Thursday July 28. The exhibition is open for public viewing

from Friday July 29 to Saturday August 6 in the Elam George Fraser Gallery and projectspace B431.
